Authentic Homemade·Small Batch·Chicago Style·Refrigerate After Opening

Good on
everything.

Mama D's Giardiniera is the relish that started on our beef and dogs — chopped by hand, packed in oil, and jarred because people kept asking to take it home. Peppers, celery, carrot, onion, garlic. Nothing that doesn't belong.

Good on
everything.

Not a slogan — a running list. Eight so far, and the jar empties faster than we can photograph it. Beef, dogs, subs, eggs, pasta, toast: if it's on a plate, it's a candidate.

Celery for crunch. Serrano for heat. Garlic because garlic.

That's the whole trick. Chopped small enough to coat a sandwich, big enough that you can still tell what you're eating. Packed in oil so it keeps — and so it soaks into whatever's underneath.

Big Mama — the Mama D's Kitchen food truck, with a beef sandwich and a Chicago dog in hand

Our story

A girl, her mom,
and a truck
called Big Mama.

Mama D is her mom — the reason she cooks at all. Every recipe started as something learned standing next to her: how much garlic is enough (more), when the peppers are right (by feel, not by timer), and why you don't rush a batch to get it out the door faster.

That cooking went on the road in a truck called Big Mama: beef, dogs, and a jar of giardiniera at the end of the counter that people kept asking to take home. Big Mama's sold now. The recipes didn't go anywhere.
